Derek’s clients include Seward Motor Group, Portsmouth Water, Buildbase, Dwyer plc and Asda Properties, The Portsmouth & South East Hampshire Partnership and a large number of private family investors with property portfolios throughout the UK.

John joined Hellier Langston in 1992, and has over 35 years of experience of the commercial property market, predominantly in South Hampshire. Elected as a Professional Associate of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 1972, and now a Fellow, John’s career began as an articled pupil at Hall Pain and Foster in Portsmouth, where he subsequently became a partner, and head of the commercial department.
John has overall responsibility for professional services, but retains a close involvement with property management. John’s current clients range from organisations such as the University of Portsmouth and CD Jordan & Son Ltd, to a wide range of small local businesses. John also undertakes valuations on behalf of many High Street banks and other financial institutions. He is an experienced arbitrator expert, and regularly receives dispute resolution appointments from the President of the RICS. |

Charlie’s work over the past decade has enhanced Hellier Langston’s position as one of the leading commercial property consultancies along the South Coast. His work has covered agency, development, investment, strategic disposal & acquisition advice for clients including SEEDA, Standard Life, Warner Estate, New Star Asset Management, The Highways Agency, Priority Sites and Portsmouth City Council.
Charlie is currently advising clients on the disposal of two of the most strategically important development sites along the M27 Corridor, for over 125,000 sq. ft. of offices and 175,000 sq. ft. of high quality industrial space. For investment clients, Charlie is currently advising on the acquisition of over £25,000,000 of industrial and office investments. |

Gary Camfield MRICS | gc@hlp.co.uk
Gary joined Hellier Langston in 2004 from the Building Consultancy department of King Sturge, to bolster our Building Surveying team. Qualifying as a Chartered Building Surveyor in 1989, whilst with Southampton City Council Building Control office, Gary has since been employed in the private sector, initially for a national firm of loss adjusters, but since providing the full range of Building Surveying duties predominantly in relation to Commercial Premises.
Gary has gained a wide range of experience with particular expertise in Project Management and Monitoring, Survey, Dilapidations and general building defect analysis within the Solent area. Since the widening of the Party Wall Act, Gary has become increasingly involved in Party Wall matters and is active member of the Wessex Branch of the Pyramus and Thisbe club. Clients for whom work is regularly undertaken include Southampton City Council, and Waitrose/John Lewis Partnership, as well as a variety of property owners, occupiers, investors and developers. |
