Hellier Langston Navigates Restrictions to Secure Double Lease

Hellier Langston has let two commercial retail properties in the same building in Fareham shopping area, navigating the COVID restrictions to get the leases completed smoothly, professionally, and in a timely manner.

The two properties - 154 and 156-158 West Street, Fareham, are owned by the same private landlord who brought Hellier Langston in at a very challenging time to get leases on both properties secured. These successful lettings are remarkable; at a time when many businesses are taking a step back to ride out the COVID storm, Hellier Langston managed to procure two tenants already established in Fareham for these premises.

154 West Street has been leased to The Boutique Haberdashery and measures 790 sq ft. The Boutique Haberdashery is a modern haberdashery for modern stitchers. They stock a wide range of fabrics, yarns, crafting materials, sewing accessories and tools, and much more.

156-158 has been leased to South Coast Appliances and is 1,565 sq ft. South Coast Appliances were established in 1998 and have two branches in Fareham and Gosport with over 300 freestanding and built-in appliances on display. They pride themselves on great, no pressure customer service.Their staff are fully trained in all the appliances which enables them to help customers find the right appliance, whether that is a washing machine, cooker or refrigeration appliance.

West Street

Bill Murrell from South Coast Appliances said: “West Street is the ideal location and as we had already traded in that street for 15 years, it made sense to stay. The shop frontage is eye catching and the interior size has allowed us to increase the number of appliances we have on show to 180, which is the best in the area. The loading area is also exactly what we needed. Over the years, I have negotiated a number of leases and this one has definitely been the easiest. From our first meeting with Hellier Langston it has run smoothly and the speed at which it was completed was impressive.”
