Acquisition – Rowans Hospice
Hellier Langston are the retained Property advisors for Rowans Hospice an established cancer charity that supports over 7,000 patients and families across Portsmouth and South East Hampshire.
What we do
On behalf of the Hospice Hellier Langston are involved in negotiating rent reviews and lease renewals, acquiring new premises as well as providing advice and support on all other property related matters.
Project
The annual cost to Rowans of providing this much needed service to the community is approximately £4.5m, all which has to be raised by the Hospice. To support the on-going funding efforts the charity currently trades from several high street retail locations.
Due to the expansion of the retail business Hellier Langston were tasked with identifying and acquiring several retail premises in key high street locations across South East Hampshire.
As part of the process Hellier Langston carried out a full scale search, distributing the requirement to all active regional property agents.
Each opportunity was analysed and reported to the Client. Once suitable premises were identified leases were negotiated in order to obtain the best possible terms for our Client. As part of this appointment we also carried out schedules of condition and asbestos reports.
What we achieved
The result was the Client opening new premises in Havant, Titchfield, Leigh Park, Wickham, Portsmouth and Hayling Island, with two more currently under offer. This will help Rowans Hospice to carry out their valuable work within the community.
