Rating revaluation on Balmer Lawn
Originally built as a hunting lodge in the mid-1800 and used as a hotel since the 1940s, after a stint as headquarters for the Canadian 3rd infantry division, The Balmer Lawn hotel and spa is one of the most established and recognised hotels in the heart of the New Forest.
After the 2017 Rating list was released Hellier Langston were asked by the owners to assess the valuation Office Agency’s opinion of value. After assessing the valuation, Hellier Langston successfully checked and then challenged the rateable value via the new system securing a reduction in the rateable value from £290,000 to £210,000.
