Cavendish Ships Stores is to expand its thriving business by moving to a new distribution and cold store facility in Segensworth.

The company, established in Hampshire since 1978, supplies food, drink and other stores to cruise and ferry lines.

It is to upgrade from its current distribution facility at Fareham Industrial Park to take a 35,059 sq ft unit at Kites Croft, Warsash Road.  The move means that the Kites Croft estate, owned by Aviva Investors, is now at 100% occupancy.  Hellier Langston and Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) were joint agents for the scheme.

John Davey Director at Cavendish Ships Stores Ltd said “We are delighted at having found a suitable site in the locality ensuring continuity for our staff; and being able to respond to the increasing demand of the Cruise and Travel Retail sectors.  Kites Croft will enable us to become more efficient and position the company for its exciting future.”

Matt Poplett, Director at Hellier Langston, said: “We are pleased to welcome Cavendish Ship Stores to Kites Croft.  The quality of this facility and its access to the Port and motorways make it a perfect location for a business of this type and we wish Cavendish every success here.”

Guy Jackson, Director – Industrial at LSH, added: “The fact that Kites Croft has reached 100% occupancy with an impressive list of high quality tenants demonstrates how sought-after good quality warehousing and distribution facilities are on the South Coast.  Cavendish is a major employer and this expansion will bring significant employment and economic benefits to the region.”
